Operational optimization

During the first year of operation, the system is adjusted for actual operating conditions. This ensures maximum efficiency post occupancy.

ACTUAL OPERATING CONDITIONS AS THE BASIS FOR OPTIMUM EFFICIENCY AND RETURN ON INVESTMENT

Konvekta is known for maximum net annual energy recovery and must therefore meet high efficiency requirements. This is achieved through data-based mathematical modeling in the Digital Twin process. System are designed for maximum performance on an annual basis and during all seasons.

DESIGN VS. ACTUAL OPERATION

Our designs are very accurate, but are based on the planned use of the building. Through experience, we know that typically, post occupancy operating conditions vary from those used during the design phase. In the first year of operation, an operational optimization is performed. During this time, the dynamic operating behavior is analyzed and optimized. This applies in particular to issues that could not be identified during commissioning in the static state of the building, such as fluctuating control behavior, incorrect SET values of the building control system, or components that were damaged or incorrectly installed during construction. Often, such quality deficiencies are not obvious and are not identified during commissioning, since specific events only occur at specific operating points. This is why an analysis of the dynamic behavior over all seasons in the annual cycle is so important. This examination of the actual operating behavior identifies system losses that would otherwise often remain undetected for many years and lead to a significant cumulative reduction in energy efficiency.

DOCUMENTATION

As with regular maintenance services, Konvekta also provides detailed reports on the status of the ERS. This includes documentation of efficiencies and recommendations during the operational optimization phase.

SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATES

The importance of the operational optimization phase has been recognized in many places. Currently, various sustainability certificates require an operational optimization as part of the project implementation. This coincides with Konvekta’s vision and philosophy: Operational optimization is an indispensable service to fully realize the potential of a high-performance system.
