As a result of the mathematical approach within the framework of the Digital Twin procedure, Konvekta is able to actively support engineers in the early phases of a project. Our mathematical model provides the design engineer with net annual energy savings calculations and peak reduction calculations early in the design phase.
The Digital Twin approach also allows a direct exchange between the engineer and Konvekta ERS experts so that different designs and application integrations can be quickly compared with each other and cost-benefit comparisons prepared. This information is provided to the building owner for investment calculations early in the design phase

Konvekta stands by our designs. Because of the data-based Digital Twin approach and mathematical modeling, this is feasible and verifiable. We are confident that our data and calculations are accurate so we are able to provide a financial performance guarantee with our systems. Konvekta also provides a dashboard with the Konvekta Controller so that owners can check the current and historical system efficiency during operation.
FUNDING MEASURES AND SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATES
Our calculations are accurate and reliable so they can be used for subsidy applications. Subsidies are an important part of the profitability calculation. Konvekta supports its partners and customers with data and experience to obtain subsidies.
The same applies to certification processes. System data can be easily accessed when needed for certification applications. Due to the high efficiency of our systems, all internationally common sustainability certificates are easily obtained, such as DGNB, LEED, BREEM.

With annual efficiencies of greater than 90%, Konvekta Energy Recovery Systems can generate very attractive returns on investment. This is not only reflected in typical short ROI periods, but also in the recuring return over the entire life of the system. The sturdy design of ERS heat exchangers results in system life cycles of at least 30 years with many systems continuing to provide excellent service beyond that point. ANNUAL UTILIZATION RATES UP TO OVER 90%
Calculation example: Klinikum Bogenhausen:
A retrofit of the Klinikum München-Bogenhausen, a hospital with 951 hospital beds, was made in 2007 that included a Konvekta ERS. The system achieves a verifiable utilization rate (annual coverage rate according to VDI 3805) of 86.3%. This results in annual energy savings for heating of 478’400 Euro and 17’800 Euro for cooling (based on 2012 energy costs of 0.05 EUR/kWh). If one relates these savings to the investment costs of approx. 1.7 million euros, one achieves an annual return on investment of almost 28% – guaranteed and risk-free!
Conclusion: The investment in a highly efficient heat recovery system has paid for itself at Klinikum Bogenhausen after approximately 4 years and has saved almost half a million euros annually since 2009. At the same time, more than 3,200,000 kg of CO2 have been saved on average per year. A significant contribution by the Bogenhausen Clinic to sustainability.
